Dick Siegel and the Brandos
Dick's recent collaboration with Brian Delaney and Dave Roof as Dick Siegel & the Brandos is bringing a new musical chemistry and excitement to listeners. The trio’s sound, like Siegel’s songs themselves, is extraordinary. It’s full of American Roots influence - blues, folk, pop, rock and jazz - and it’s strikingly modern. Siegel, Roof and Delaney are committed to pushing the limits of a string trio, squeezing every bit of music they can out of Siegel’s songs and their instruments. They are intent on breaking new ground to bring something powerful, significant and beautiful to their audiences.
Bassist-in-demand Dave Roof has been playing with Siegel for over ten years. He possesses a spot-on intuition for melody and rhythm, a terrific singing voice, and is a master of the Willie Dixon school of explosive, slapping upright bass. Roof also plays trumpet, guitar and piano, and has toured nationally with Tom Maxwell, as well as the Starlight Drifters.
Brian Delaney is a virtuoso musician with a taste for everything from the early acoustic blues and jazz he explores, to the electric rock ‘n roll he grew up with. He has played with seminal Ann Arbor bands, as well as with a gypsy jazz trio and the very successful vintage jazz group The Royal Garden Trio.
